Type 13 - Friction Shocks
Renegade announced their new friction shocks and I bought a pair right away. The Brescia uses these so it would add to the authentic look as well as dampening some of the springing action of the front suspension.
They arrived in February as promised and I was pleased with the quality. Unfortunately, it did not come with any mounting instructions or example.
Fortunately, Steve Vinson did a video showing how he mounted his and I followed his example. I appreciate his taking the time to explain this and show us how he did it.
Rather than buying some tabs and modifying them, like Steve, I just built 4 myself out of 1/4″ steel. To make sure they turned out identical, I stacked all four together when shaping and drilling the hole for the 5/16″ bolt I used.
With a dash of patience and following Steve’s steps, I successfully mounted mine and I was pretty pleased with the end result.
