As most of the car will be carbon fiber rather than metal, I will need to simulate prominent exterior rivets.  I will be able to buy the right size rivets and cut each to length.  Then I’ll drill small holes into the carbon skin and glue in false rivets.  Across the top of the tail section exists a flange where the two halves of the engine compartment come together.  The rivet head is on one side of the flange and the compressed end of the rivet on the other.  I will try actually riveting the carbon fiber with very soft rivets in hopes it will not crack.  Gluing on compressed rivets to the opposite side of the head is another choice, but I’m not very excited to use this strategy.
